Destructive Coaching Myths
This is the number one myth in coaching, the one where clients give up their power right at the starting line. When they think the coach is there to make it happen. This is why a lot of coaches secretly want to be Tony Robbins, the NLP guru. If only you could have that kind of power.. But who is responsible for any and every change in life? The person we work with. And more than that, it is Shakti, the creative intelligence of life itself. Shakti is what fuels all their dreams, longings and their impulses and ideas to bring those longings into form.
As a coach, buying into the myth that you are here to make it happen will make you feel either a superhero or it will make you doubt yourself every step of the way. Either way you would be deluding yourself and your clients.
Because with this myth, clients are setting themselves up for failure. They hand over their power to someone who doesn’t have it to begin with. They distance themselves from the source of the most powerful route to change there is: direct co-creation with life as it flows through them. And worse: they forget this is their birth right.
A good coach is like a midwife, helping her clients birth the changes that they want. And she has the skills and tools to not get in the way of this Shakti birthing process. At the Academy for Soul-based Coaching you learn how to help clients connect with their deepest knowing. And you learn how to nurture and guide the change process that starts to unfold naturally into a full-blown birth of aligned, impactful change.
